Anna Szirmai

Research Department

From 2016 to 2018, Anna Szirmai worked at the Artpool Art Research Center. As of 2023, she is a researcher in the Research Department of the Central European Research Institute for Art History.

In 2020, she received her PhD from the Doctoral School of Literary Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Eötvös Loránd University. In her dissertation, she discussed experimental trends in Italian poetry in the 1960s and 1970s. In the first half of 2024, she was a research fellow at the Center for Italian Modern Art (CIMA) in New York. Her current research explores forms of reproductive labour, focusing on the work of women artists active in Central Europe in the 1970s.

Within the projects of the Research Department, she coordinates the Work and Reproductive Labour in Central European Women's Artistic Practices working group and is involved in the processing of the László Beke Archive.
