Petrovics 150 : Study Volume in Honor of Elek Petrovics

’We can safely say that if it wasn’t for Elek Petrovics' work, Hungarian art history would not be what it is today. That is why we deemed it important to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth in December 2023 with a conference on the multifaceted and indispensable role he played in Hungarian art history, museology, and especially in the history of the Museum of Fine Arts. We have now compiled the edited lectures of this conference into one volume, which we are pleased to share with the modern reader in honor of our distinguished predecessor, Elek Petrovics.’

(excerpt from the foreword by László Baán, Director General of the Museum of Fine Arts)

The 336-page, richly illustrated volume contains expanded versions of the lectures given at the conference held in 2023 to honor the 150th birth anniversary of the distinguished art collector and critic.
