Ana Avelar is a professor of Theory, Criticism and Art History at the University of Brasília (UnB). She curated shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art at the University of São Paulo (MAC / USP) and at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Belo Horizonte (CCBB-BH), among others. She also integrates juries of national awards for Contemporary Art and writes regularly about abstract art. In 2019, she won the Curators Exchange Program, promoted by the Brazilian Contemporary Art Association – ABACT in partnership with the Getty Research Institute.
